The more you focus on your difficulties, your hardships, or even your pain when you are suffering, the more you focus on what happens, the bigger it gets. You doubt God the more.
When I think of focus, I remember Daniel in the lions’ Den. If he was focusing on the lions, he wouldn’t be really sleeping, right? He would have been in a corner somewhere, hoping the lions wouldn’t see him. Daniel didn’t have his eyes on the lions, but on God. When you focus on the trouble, the burden and the pain, it gets bigger and we feel less confident, less significant and overwhelmed. Always remember, Daniel was looking at God’s Omnipotence! Who created the lions? He can shut the lion’s mouth; He could do anything. When he woke up, he was right where he was because he had obeyed God, and God delivered him.
5 Ways to Focus on God.
- Initiate the day with God
- Pray without ceasing
- Limit your distractions
- Serve God
- Remove sin from your life
God wants us to obey Him and leave the consequences to Him. Is there any consequence for your obedience that God can’t handle?
If We obey Him and leave the consequences to Him, we are going to have Peace, Joy, Confidence, and Assurance that it doesn’t make a difference what’s going on because He is in control; if I am obeying Him, He has already taken care of it. The only thing that can happen in your life is what God enables. Whatever He allows, He allows for a reason. Sometimes, you may not like it, but there’s a Bigger Plan stored up for you.
Hebrews 12:1 tells us that “We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up”; the next verse tells how to do that. “We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our Faith.”
So, if God takes you to it, He’ll take you through it.
